RESOLUTION No. JPRM-2023-020-A THE MONETARY POLICY AND REGULATION BOARD CONSIDERING: Whereas, Article 226 of the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador stipulates that public officials and persons acting under state authority shall exercise only the competencies and powers attributed to them in the Constitution and the Law; Whereas, Article 227 thereof states that the Public Administration constitutes a service to the community governed by the principles of efficiency, quality, hierarchy, coordination, planning, among others; Whereas, the first paragraph of Article 303 of the Constitution provides that the formulation of monetary, credit, exchange, and financial policies is the exclusive authority of the Executive Branch and shall be implemented through the Central Bank of Ecuador; Whereas, Article 47.1 of the Organic Code of Monetary and Financial Institutions created the Monetary Policy and Regulation Board as part of the Executive Branch, responsible for monetary formulation, the highest governing body of the Central Bank of Ecuador, and determined its composition; Whereas, the sixth paragraph of the aforementioned article determines that the Monetary Policy and Regulation Board must elect its President from among its members for a term of two (2) years, with the possibility of re-election for one additional term; Whereas, Article 53 of the Organic Administrative Code, regarding the legal regime of collegiate bodies, establishes that these shall be subject to their specific regulations and to said Code; Whereas, the Plenary of the National Assembly, on October 12, 2021, appointed and sworn in the members of the Monetary Policy and Regulation Board; Whereas, the Monetary Policy and Regulation Board, through Resolution No. JPRM-2021-001-A of October 14, 2021, elected Dr. Tatiana Maribel Rodríguez Cerón as its President for a term of two (2) years; Whereas, the Monetary Policy and Regulation Board, in extraordinary virtual session No. 007-2023 held on October 12, 2023, convened to elect the President of the aforementioned Board; and,

In exercise of its functions and pursuant to Article 47.7 of the Organic Code of Monetary and Financial Institutions, the Monetary Policy and Regulation Board: RESOLVES Sole Article.- Reelect Dr. Tatiana Maribel Rodríguez Cerón as President of the Monetary Policy and Regulation Board for a term of two (2) years, counted from the date hereof, in accordance with current regulations. FINAL PROVISION.- This Resolution shall take effect from the date hereof, without prejudice to its publication in the Official Register. The publication of this Resolution on the institutional website of the Central Bank of Ecuador is entrusted to the Document Management and Archives Directorate. NOTIFY AND PUBLISH.- Given in the Metropolitan District of Quito, on October 12, 2023.
