Circular No. 78: Connecting Bank Premises to the Palestine Monetary Authority Disaster Recovery Site

The Palestine Monetary Authority issued Circular No. 78/2018 mandating all banks operating in Palestine to establish a Site-to-Site VPN connection to the Authority's Disaster Recovery Site via the Internet. This requirement ensures the safety, stability, and operational continuity of the banking sector by guaranteeing uninterrupted access to critical regulatory systems during disaster events. Banks must implement this connectivity in compliance with Business Continuity Management instructions No. (2009/2) and may contact the Authority's Information Technology Department for technical support.

Subject: Connecting Bank Premises to the Palestine Monetary Authority Disaster Recovery Site

In order to safeguard the safety and stability of the banking sector and ensure business continuity, and based on the best adopted standards, best practices, and our instructions regarding Business Continuity Management in Banks No. (2009/2) in this regard, all banks are requested to complete the connection of their premises to the Palestine Monetary Authority's Disaster Recovery Site using Site-to-Site VPN via the Internet, in order to access the Authority's critical systems during disasters.
