Decision on Issuing Jubilee Coins for Petrolamium crnojevicii Discovery and Montenegro's Ecological State Anniversary

Pursuant to Article 44 paragraph 2 item 3) and in conjunction with Article 5 paragraph 2 of the Central Bank of Montenegro Law (OGM 40/10, 6/13, 70/17, 125/23), the Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro, at its meeting held on 26 May 2026, passed the following DECISION ON ISSUING JUBILEE COINS ON THE OCCASION OF THE DISCOVERY OF THE ENDEMIC PLANT Petrolamium crnojevicii AND CELEBRATING THE 35TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ECOLOGICAL STATE OF MONTENEGRO Article 1 On the occasion of the discovery of the endemic plant Petrolamium crnojevicii and celebrating the 35th anniversary of the ecological state of Montenegro, the Central Bank of Montenegro (hereinafter: the Central Bank) shall issue jubilee coins in 2026. Article 2 Jubilee coins referred to in Article 1 of this Decision shall be issued in the form of gold coins, silver coins and Nordic Gold coins. Article 3 The gold coin shall be issued with a face value of 35 perpers and in a mintage of 50 pieces. The gold coin shall have a weight of not less than ¼ troy ounce, a diameter of 22 mm, and shall be struck from gold of a fineness of not less than 999/1000, featuring mirror-like fields and frosted relief elements. The permitted tolerance for the diameter of the gold coin shall be 2% above the diameter specified in paragraph 2 of this Article. The permitted tolerance for the weight of the gold coin shall be 2‰ (two per mille) above the weight specified in paragraph 2 of this Article. Article 4 Silver coin shall be issued with a face value of 35 perpers and in a mintage of 250 pieces. The silver coin shall have a weight of not less than 1 troy ounce and a diameter of 38 mm, and shall be struck from silver of a fineness of not less than 999/1000, featuring mirror-like fields and frosted relief elements. The permitted tolerance for the diameter of the silver coin shall be 2% above the diameter specified in paragraph 2 of this Article. The permitted tolerance for the weight of the silver coin shall be 2‰ (two per mille) above the weight specified in paragraph 2 of this Article. Article 5 A coin struck in Nordic Gold shall be issued with a face value of 35 perpers and in a mintage of 200 pieces.

The Nordic Gold coin shall have a weight of not less than 22 grams and a diameter of not less than 38 mm, and shall be minted from an alloy of copper, aluminium, zinc and tin, featuring mirror-like fields and frosted relief elements. The permitted tolerance for the diameter of the Nordic Gold coin shall be 2% above the diameter specified in paragraph 2 of this Article. The permitted tolerance for the weight of the Nordic Gold coin shall be 2‰ (two per mille) above the weight specified in paragraph 2 of this Article. Article 6 The design of the obverse of the gold coin and the Nordic Gold coin shall be as follows: in the lower right segment along the rim, the inscription “Petrolamium crnojevicii” shall be engraved in italic Latin script; in the central field, a graphical representation of the plant Petrolamium crnojevicii shall be depicted; and in the upper left segment along the rim, the year 2019 shall be inscribed. The design of the reverse of the gold coin and the Nordic Gold coin shall be as follows: in the central field, a graphical representation of the coat of arms of the Crnojević dynasty – the Octoechos motif – shall be depicted; above the coat of arms, the year 2026 shall be inscribed; along the upper edge of the coin, the inscription “CENTRALNA BANKA CRNE GORE” shall be engraved in Latin script, beneath which shall be indicated the face value and monetary unit, 35 perpers, with the inscription rendered in Cyrillic script on the left side and in Latin script on the right side. Article 7 The design of the obverse of the silver coin shall be as follows: in the lower right segment along the rim, the inscription “Petrolamium crnojevicii” shall be engraved in italic Latin script; in the central field, a coloured graphical representation of the plant Petrolamium crnojevicii shall be depicted; and in the upper left segment along the rim, the year 2019 shall be inscribed. The design of the reverse of the silver coin shall be as follows: in the central field, a graphical representation of the coat of arms of the Crnojević dynasty – the Octoechos motif – shall be depicted; above the coat of arms, the year 2026 shall be inscribed; along the upper edge of the coin, the inscription “CENTRALNA BANKA CRNE GORE” shall be engraved in Latin script, beneath which the face value and monetary unit, 35 perpers, shall be indicated, rendered in Cyrillic script on the left side and in Latin script on the right side. Article 8 The manner of use, composition and distribution of the gold coins, silver coins and Nordic Gold coins shall be determined by a separate decision of the Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro. Article 9 This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the “Official Gazette of Montenegro”.
