Directive No. 6/DSB/96: Exchange Offices Sale of Travellers Cheques

The Banking Supervision Directorate mandates that all exchange offices submit a weekly report detailing foreign currency sales and passport numbers to the directorate by 10:30 a.m. on Mondays. This reporting requirement covers all transactions occurring on Fridays and implements recent government changes to national exchange policy measures. The directive takes immediate effect and requires the use of an attached standardized template to track beneficiary names, sold currency values, and passport numbers.

DIRECTIVE No. 6/DSB/96 SUBJECT: EXCHANGE OFFICES SALE OF TRAVELLERS CHEQUES

Within the framework of the changes to the Exchange Policy measures defined by the Government, all Exchange Offices must submit to the Banking Supervision Directorate a weekly report (according to the attached template), specifying:

  • Beneficiary name .- Value of foreign currency sold – Passport No. The data to be included in the aforementioned report will cover every Friday, and must be submitted to the Banking Supervision Directorate on the following Monday by 10:30 a.m. This Directive enters into force immediately.
