Bank of Zambia Circular No. 13/2022: Review of the Draft National Payment Systems Vision and Strategy 2023–2027
The Bank of Zambia requires commercial banks, non-bank financial institutions, and payment service providers to nominate representatives for a workshop reviewing its draft National Payment Systems Vision and Strategy 2023–2027. Stakeholders must submit comments by November 18, 2022, while logistical details for the November 22 workshop will be sent directly to designated officers. This five-year framework replaces the expiring 2018–2022 strategy and establishes collaborative objectives to guide national payment system growth through 2027.

REVIEW OF THE DRAFT NATIONAL PAYMENT SYSTEMS VISION AND STRATEGY, 2023 – 2027
Reference is made to the above subject matter.
As you may be aware, the current National Payment Systems Vision and Strategy, 2018 – 2022, will be coming to an end this year. The Bank has, therefore, drafted the new strategic document to cover the period, 2023 to 2027. The new document aims to set out key objectives that will be collaboratively worked on with all relevant stakeholders to shape the growth of the National Payment System for the next five years.
In view of the foregoing, please be advised that the Bank will hold a workshop to review the draft National Payment Systems Vision and Strategy, 2023 – 2027, on November 22, 2022. In this regard, kindly nominate a representative to participate in the review of the draft document. Details of the nominated officer may be communicated to Mr. Jack Dumingu, Manager – Payment Systems Designation on email, jdumingu@boz.zm or Mr. Adrian Kangwa, Assistant Manager – Payment Systems Designation, akangwa@boz.zm. Please note that logistical arrangements for the workshop will be communicated directly with the nominated staff.
