The Central Bank of Belize issued Direction No. 1/2014 to define the terms of reference for the administration of Exchange Control Regulations under the Exchange Control Regulations Act 2003. This directive informs Authorised Dealers and Authorised Depositaries of their delegated authority and provides general information to guide the public. It also supersedes all previous instructions on the same subjects and establishes that non-compliance with the regulations constitutes an offence punishable by fine or imprisonment.
