The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina mandates that all licensed banks maintain reserve accounts with its central and main units and provide timely financial information upon request. The Central Bank is authorized to assist banks in organizing clearing and settlement mechanisms for interbank payments, including checks, and to establish relevant procedures. Additionally, the Central Bank may establish and maintain an information network for the country's financial system.
CHAPTER VIII Relations of the Central Bank with Banks
Article 57. Bank Accounts in the Books of the Central Bank Every bank conducting its activities based on a banking license shall open and maintain an account for mandatory reserves in the books of the central bank and its main units under the conditions determined by the Central Bank's Board of Governors. Upon request, the bank shall promptly provide information to the Central Bank, its main units, and other branches in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska regarding its operations and financial position, as specified by the regulations of the Central Bank's Board of Governors.
Article 58. Clearing and Settlement Facilities The Central Bank may assist banks in organizing clearing facilities and settlement in interbank payments, including payments via checks and other payment instruments, through its central and main units. The Central Bank may also establish procedures and issue such regulations as it deems appropriate.
Article 59. Information Network The Central Bank may establish and maintain an information network for the financial system of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
