PSD-2 Circular Letter No. 04: Regarding BACH and RTGS Transaction Schedule on 25 and 26 May 2023 Preceding Eid-ul-Adha

Bangladesh Bank's Payment Systems Department-2 issues Circular Letter No. 04 to specify the adjusted operating hours for BACH and RTGS transactions on the government holidays of 25 and 26 May 2023 preceding Eid-ul-Adha. The directive mandates that BACPS High Value Clearing will operate with an 11:30 AM presentment cutoff and 12:30 PM return cutoff, while Regular Value Clearing will run from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM. BEFTN sessions will maintain their standard schedule, and RTGS will process all domestic and foreign currency transactions between 10:00 AM and 12:45 PM, with international fund transfers and returns extending until 1:00 PM.

Dear Sir,

Regarding the scheduling of BACH and RTGS transactions on the government holidays preceding the holy Eid-ul-Adha 2023.

In continuation of Circular Letter No. 09 dated 18 May 2023 from the Supervisory Data Management and Analytics Department, the operations of the Bangladesh Automated Clearing House BACH (BACPS & BEFTN) and Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) on the government holidays of 25 and 26 May 2023 will be conducted according to the following schedule:

1. Transaction Schedule for Bangladesh Automated Clearing House (BACH):

a) High Value Clearing for BACPS

  • Presentment Cut off Time - 11:30 AM,
  • Return Cut off Time - 12:30 PM

Regular Value Clearing

  • Presentment Cut off Time - 12:00 PM,
  • Return Cut off Time - 01:00 PM

b) The three sessions of BEFTN on the aforementioned days will remain operational according to the previous schedule.

2. Transaction Schedule for Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS):

a) All Transactions (BDT & FC)

  • 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM

b) International Fund Transfer and Return (BDT & FC)

  • 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
