The event will take place over two 2-day sessions, with registration fees set at N35,000 per participant. Accommodation discounts are available at the hotel. Nominations should be submitted along with a bank draft made payable to "Central Bank of Nigeria - FEM Training Account" by August 15th, and participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

The workshop will hold in two runs of 2 days each for banks' staff involved in foreign exchange and treasury functions. It will focus on current issues in foreign exchange management such as Developing a Viable Inter-bank Foreign Exchange Market: Concepts, Issues and Challenges, Role of Financial Institutions in Developing a Viable Inter-bank Foreign Exchange Market, Role of the Private Sector in Developing a Viable Inter-bank Foreign Exchange Market, Policy Options and Strategies for Developing a Viable Inter-bank Foreign Exchange Market in Nigeria, etc.
Papers will be presented by experts and seasoned practitioners in the fields of Economics, Banking, Finance and International Trade amongst whom are Messrs Ade Adeola, Head, Institutional Banking, Standard Chartered Bank; Dr. K.S. Adeyemi, Deputy General Manager, Union Bank of Nigeria; Bismark Rewane, Managing Director, Financial Derivatives Company and V.A. Odozi, Managing Consultant, Teredoz Consulting.
The programme will hold at 9.00 a.m. daily except on the first day when registration will commence at 8.00 a.m. The workshop fee is N35,000.00 (Thirty 2 five thousand Naira only) per participant and covers course fees, workshop bag and materials, group lunch, tea/ coffee and snacks, but excludes accommodation and other meals. However, arrangement has been made at Gateway Hotel, Abeokuta for a 25% discount on normal room rates for workshop participants.
Banks are enjoined to forward the names of their nominees together with a bank draft for N35,000.00 (Thirty five thousand Naira only) per nominee to the Assistant Director, Foreign Exchange Management Office, Trade and Exchange Department, Central Bank of Nigeria, Abuja or the Senior Manager, Data Management Office, Trade and Exchange Department, Lagos, on or before August 15, 2004. The draft should be made payable to "Central Bank of Nigeria - FEM Training Account". Please note that participation will be on the basis of first come, first served.
Banks are, however, encouraged to nominate more than one nominee and spread them between the two runs. For the avoidance of doubt, only participants who have paid on or before the deadline stated above will be allowed to attend the workshop.
