Instruction (Historical) No. 2/2025
Banco de Portugal issued Instruction No. 2/2025 to amend Instruction No. 8/2018, which regulates the Interbank Clearing System (SICOI). This regulatory update applies to credit institutions and modifies the operational framework for interbank compensation, electronic payments, and direct debits. The instruction entered into force on January 30, 2025, under the authority of Law No. 5/98.
