ESMA Guidelines on the management of conflicts of interest of central counterparties

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) issued these guidelines to establish standards for the management of conflicts of interest by central counterparties. The document provides specific operational requirements and best practices to ensure that CCPs identify, prevent, and manage conflicts that could impair their safety or the integrity of the financial markets. These orientations are applicable as of June 20, 2019, and serve as a key regulatory reference for market infrastructure operators.
