The Palestine Monetary Authority reiterates its directive requiring all banks operating in Palestine to verify that every customer using checks holds a valid inquiry and authorization form. Banks must promptly address any documentation gaps in preparation for the upcoming launch of the Unified Inquiry System on the Authority's website. The regulator will audit samples of these authorization forms prior to the system's official rollout to ensure legal compliance for disclosing customer classification ratings.

Following our Circular No. (2011/34) issued on 2/3/2011, concerning the necessity for banks to verify the availability of an inquiry and authorization form for all their employees who hold checkbooks, and in preparation for the upcoming launch of the Unified Inquiry System for citizens on the Palestine Monetary Authority website in the near future, the Authority reiterates for the second time the necessity for banks to verify the availability of authorization forms for all customers who use checks and to take the necessary measures to address any deficiencies as soon as possible.
It is worth noting the utmost importance of complying with the text of this Circular and the one referenced above, in order to provide legal coverage for disclosing the classification ratings of customers listed on the Checks System. The Palestine Monetary Authority will request samples of authorization forms for some bank customers prior to the official launch of the system.
