Bangladesh Bank has authorized licensed freight forwarders in Bangladesh to receive inward remittances directly from alternative entities, including importers, buying houses, and foreign arranging parties. This directive expands upon previous regulations by allowing these forwarders to collect freight charges outside of their overseas counterpart networks, thereby providing wider flexibility for repatriating funds through standard banking channels. Issued under Section 20(3) of the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947, the circular maintains all other existing foreign exchange instructions while requiring authorized dealers to notify their relevant clientele of the updated remittance procedures.
