The Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro has issued a decision supplementing existing payment system reporting regulations. The amendment introduces a new Article 8a mandating that payment service providers submit their initial reports using standardized templates by the deadline for the second quarter of 2026. The decision enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette of Montenegro.
Pursuant to Article 44 paragraph (2) item 3) of the Central Bank of Montenegro Law (OGM 40/10, 6/13, 70/17, 125/23) and Article 55 paragraph (2) of the Payment System Law (OGM 62/13, 111/22, 15/25, 140/25), the Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro, at its meeting held on 31 March 2026, passed the following DECISION supplementing the Decision on Payment System Reporting to the Central Bank of Montenegro Article 1 In the Decision on Payment System Reporting to the Central Bank of Montenegro (OGM 82/17, 107/20, 10/26) after Article 8 a new article shall be added, worded as follows: “Article 8a “Payment service providers shall submit the first report using the templates prescribed by the Decision Amending the Decision on Payment System Reporting to the Central Bank of Montenegro (OGM 10/26) within the deadline prescribed for the submission of reports for the second quarter of 2026.” Article 2 This Decision shall enter into force on the eighth day following that of its publication in the “Official Gazette of Montenegro”.
