Proceeds of Crime (Amendment) Act 2016

The Governor-General of Jamaica assented to the Proceeds of Crime (Amendment) Act 2016 on December 14, 2016, to amend the principal Proceeds of Crime Act. This legislation specifically modifies Section 9 of the principal Act by replacing the term "Land Valuation" with "Lands" in subsection (3)(c). The Act is cited as the Proceeds of Crime (Amendment) Act, 2016, and is to be read and construed together with the principal Act and its existing amendments.

AN ACT to Amend the Proceeds of Crime Act.

BE IT ENACTED by The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Representatives of Jamaica, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

  1. This Act may be cited as the Proceeds of Crime (Amendment) Act, 2016, and shall be read and construed as one with the Proceeds of Crime Act (hereinafter referred to as the “principal Act”) and all amendments thereto.

Amendment of section 9 of principal Act.

  1. Section 9 of the principal Act is amended in subsection (3)(c) by deleting the words “Land Valuation” and substituting therefor the word “Lands”.
