Publication of Monthly Financial Statements
The Bank of Zambia mandates all commercial banks to commence publishing quarterly financial statements by 31 July 1997, as required under Section 61(4) of the Banking and Financial Services Act, 1994. The regulator warns that failure to publish or the submission of inaccurate statements will incur penalties under Section 128 of the same Act. Additionally, the circular amends the income and expenses reporting format by requiring all non-interest expense sub-items to be consolidated under a single "non-interest expenses" heading in the attached schedule.

## PUBLICATION OF MONTHLY FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
Further to CB Circular No.3/97, you are hereby reminded that the deadline for commencement of publishing quarterly financial statements as required by section 61(4) of the Banking and Financial Services Act, 1994 is 31 July 1997. Failure to publish a statement or publication of incorrect statements will attract penalties in accordance with Section 128 of the Banking and Financial Services Act, 1994.
This also serves to advise that the statement of income and expenses has been amended for publication purposes only. The sub items under non-interest expenses should be added and published under one sub-title viz "non-interest expenses" as per attached amended schedule.
