Circular CSSF 19/723 — ESMA Guidelines on the application of the definitions of commodity derivatives in Sections C6 and C7 of Annex I of MiFID II

The Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) issued Circular 19/723 to disseminate the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) Guidelines regarding commodity derivatives. These guidelines clarify the application of definitions found in Sections C6 and C7 of Annex I to Directive 2004/39/EC (MiFID II). The circular explicitly repeals the previous Circular CSSF 15/615 to ensure alignment with the updated regulatory framework.
