The Minister responsible for exchange control in Belize issued Statutory Instrument No. 63 of 2013 to amend the Exchange Control Regulations. This instrument repeals and replaces Regulation 33 to explicitly exempt the Government of Belize from exchange control requirements for opening bank accounts and conducting foreign currency transactions. The regulations were gazetted on June 26, 2013, and came into force on June 24, 2013.

REGULATIONS made by the Minister responsible for exchange control, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 3 of the Exchange Control Regulations Act, Chapter 52 of the Substantive Laws of Belize, Revised Edition 2000-2003, and all other powers thereunto him enabling.

EXCHANGE CONTROL (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2013,
and shall be read and construed as one with the Exchange Control Regulations, which, as amended, are hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations.

(2) In these Regulations, "Government of Belize" includes any Ministry or Department of the Government of Belize".
