The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) issued guidelines establishing criteria for assessing the knowledge and competence of personnel at crypto-asset service providers under the Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA). The Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) applies these ESMA orientations to ensure compliance with MiCA requirements for digital asset service providers. These guidelines became applicable on July 28, 2026, and are available in both French and English on the ESMA website.
