Circular CN/2024/9916: Data Reporting in the Maldives International Transactions Reporting System

The Maldives Monetary Authority mandates that all banks transition from the testing phase to live reporting in the Maldives International Transactions Reporting System (MITRS) effective 1 January 2025. Banks must establish secure HTTPS connections to the production environment by 26 December 2024, as the test environment will cease operations on 31 December 2024. This directive supersedes Circular No: CN-SSD/2013/4 and requires all uploaded data to comply with the latest MITRS Reporting Guidelines.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Data Reporting in the Maldives International Transactions Reporting System (MITRS)

This is to officially inform all banks that the testing phase for the Maldives International Transactions Reporting System (MITRS) will be concluded on 31 December 2024. All banks are required to transition to live reporting starting 1 January 2025.

  1. Connection to Production Environment:

    • Banks that have not yet established a connection to the new production environment must do so by 26 December 2024.
      • To ensure data security, all connections to the production environment must use HTTPS (a secure protocol that encrypts data to protect it during transmission).
    • The production environment details are as follows:
    • The test environment will cease operations at 3:00 PM on 31 December 2024.
  2. Data Reporting Requirements:

    • Effective 1 January 2025, all uploaded data—regardless of the transaction date—must comply with the instructions and deadlines outlined in the latest version of the MITRS Reporting Guidelines attached to this circular.
  3. Superseding Circular:

    • This circular supersedes Circular No: CN-SSD/2013/4, dated 20 August 2013.
