ESMA Decision on Withdrawal of MiFID Guidelines on Systems and Controls in Automated Trading

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) Board of Supervisors formally withdraws the 2011 guidelines regarding systems and controls in automated trading environments for trading platforms and investment firms. This withdrawal occurs because the regulatory clarifications previously contained in these guidelines have been fully incorporated into the revised MiFID II Directive and the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR). The decision enters into force on the date of its adoption and mandates the publication of the withdrawal on ESMA's website.
