The Central African Banking Commission (COBAC) issued Regulation R-2001/01 to amend its previous Regulation R-93/02 concerning the net own funds requirements for credit institutions. This regulatory update establishes the specific capital adequacy standards and calculation methodologies that credit establishments must adhere to within the CEMAC region. The regulation ensures that financial entities maintain sufficient net own funds to guarantee their solvency and stability.
The present regulation modifies and completes the provisions of Regulation R-93/02 of December 23, 1993, relating to the net own funds of credit institutions.
The present regulation enters into force on the date of its publication.
The Secretary General of the COBAC is charged with the execution of the present regulation, which will be published in the Official Journal of the CEMAC.
