Banknote Imagery Advisory Group Minutes – 29 April 2026
The Bank of England’s Banknote Imagery Advisory Group recommended a shortlist of UK wildlife for the second public consultation on Series H banknotes. The proposed list includes mammals, birds, and aquatic species categorized to ensure distinctiveness and security, while addressing the Public Sector Equality Duty. The group will seek further expert advice on specific species, such as replacing the beaver with the hare, before the consultation runs from 3 June to 3 July 2026.
