The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) exempts customers of airport exchange center branches traveling outside the Kingdom from presenting a national ID to execute transactions, permitting reliance solely on a passport and boarding pass verified against the customer's name. This directive implements formal approval from the Minister of Interior and updates the Bank’s February 2015 operational guide for exchange offices. All Exchange Centers (A and B) are required to comply immediately upon the circular's issuance date.

Dear Sirs, Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you,
Subject: Exemption of customers of airport exchange center branches traveling outside the Kingdom only from presenting the national ID.
In continuation of the guide regulating the operational procedures of exchange offices issued by the Bank in February 2015 regarding customer acceptance policies and procedures for verifying national identity.
We hereby inform you that the Bank has received a telegram from His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior, No. 199974, dated 10/09/1440H, approving the exemption of customers of airport exchange centers traveling outside the Kingdom only from presenting the national ID to execute transactions, and relying solely on presenting a passport and boarding pass, and verifying them against the customer's name.
