Point of Sale Terminals in Government Circuits No. 98

Reference:

  1. Article 194 of the Central Bank Law No. (2) of 2022.
  2. The Monetary Data Router (MDR) system.

  6. The prohibition of unauthorized payment methods such as Apple Pay.

The Palestine Monetary Authority, pursuant to the powers granted to it by Article 194 of the Central Bank Law No. (2) of 2022, and in light of the importance of the Monetary Data Router (MDR) system, and after reviewing the relevant circulars and instructions, and considering the need to standardize payment methods in government circuits, and noting the prohibition of unauthorized payment methods such as Apple Pay, hereby issues the following:

  1. All government departments are required to use the Monetary Data Router (MDR) system for all transactions.
  2. The use of unauthorized payment methods, including but not limited to Apple Pay, is strictly prohibited in government circuits.
  3. Compliance with this circular is mandatory for all government departments.
