Securities (Specification of Approved Assets, Liquid Assets and Ranking Liabilities) Notice
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Zambia specifies the approved assets, liquid assets, and ranking liabilities for licensed dealers and investment advisers under the 1993 Securities Rules. It mandates valuation according to generally accepted accounting principles, applies statutory discount rates to government bonds, equities, and collective investment schemes, and excludes long-term fixed asset liabilities from liquidity margin calculations. The notice further requires independent valuations for real property interests and precisely defines eligible receivables, bank borrowings, and contingent obligations to ensure accurate net capital compliance.
