Decision on the Issuance, Basic Features, and Circulation of Additional Quantities of Convertible Mark Banknotes in Denominations of 50 KM and 100 KM

The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision on January 31, 2008, authorizing the release of additional convertible mark banknotes in 50 KM and 100 KM denominations. These banknotes, featuring designs from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska, are designated as legal tender and bear the printing year 2008 below the Governor's signature. The new notes were scheduled to enter circulation starting February 4, 2008, and the decision was published in all relevant official gazettes.

Pursuant to Article 2, paragraph 3, item h, Article 7, item e, Article 39, and Article 42 of the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina", numbers 1/97, 29/02, 13/03, 14/03, 9/05, 76/06, and 32/07), the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 1st meeting held on January 31, 2008, adopts

D E C I S I O N on the issuance, basic features, and circulation of additional quantities of convertible mark banknotes in denominations of 50 KM and 100 KM

  1. The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (hereinafter: the Central Bank) issues and puts into circulation additional quantities of convertible mark banknotes (hereinafter: KM), as legal tender in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in denominations of 50 KM and 100 KM, of the design of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska.

  2. The banknotes referred to in item 1 of this Decision have basic features and technical characteristics established in all respects by the Decision on the Issuance and Circulation of Convertible Mark Banknotes ("Official Gazette of BiH", numbers 10/98, 11/02, and 40/07), with the exception that on the face of the printed banknotes, below the signature and the word "Governor", there is the numerical designation "2008", as the year of printing.

  3. The banknotes referred to in item 1 of this Decision shall be put into circulation starting from February 4, 2008.

  4. This Decision shall be published in the "Official Gazette of BiH", the "Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH", the "Official Gazette of Republika Srpska", and the "Official Gazette of the Brčko District of BiH".
