Supervisory Relief to Help Financial Institutions and Facilitate Recovery in Areas of Arkansas Affected by Severe Storms and Tornadoes

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation has issued supervisory relief to FDIC-supervised financial institutions in nine affected Arkansas counties following severe storms and tornadoes that caused significant property damage in March 2025. The agency encourages constructive loan restructuring and repayment term extensions, grants favorable Community Reinvestment Act consideration for disaster-related investments, and provides temporary relief from certain filing, publishing, and reporting requirements. Institutions may also expedite requests for temporary banking facilities and leverage Regulation Z's emergency waiver of the three-day rescission period, with the Dallas Regional Office overseeing compliance and delay evaluations.
