SUBJECT: INFORMATION ON CREDIT AND DEPOSIT STATISTICS

Circular No. 01/ECD/99 of 30 December, concerning information on credit and deposit statistics, amended the forms contained in Circular No. 1/95 regarding the credit, issuance, and debt area and, in its place, introduced forms mandatory for completion by all credit institutions.

Given the need to establish a uniform mechanism for the submission of information, as well as the need to calculate financial inclusion indicators and indices down to the district level, the Bank of Mozambique, pursuant to paragraph n) of paragraphs 1 and 3 of Article 3 and Article 7, both of Notice No. 4/GBM/2020 of 23 April, determines:

1. Credit institutions must send statistical information to the Bank of Mozambique down to the district level regarding: a) Bank credit, according to the model in Annex I, which forms an integral part of this Circular; and b) Bank deposits, according to the model in Annex II, which forms an integral part of this Circular.

2. The information referred to in the preceding paragraph must be submitted by the 15th day of the following month to which it relates, via the Bank Supervision Application (BSA).

3. This Circular takes effect from the date of its signing.
