FSC Introduces Plans to Improve Competitiveness of Corporate Financing by Securities Businesses

The Financial Services Commission announced regulatory reforms for Comprehensive Financial Investment Business Entities to enhance their competitiveness in corporate financing and venture capital. Key measures include expanding credit granting limits, mandating that 25 percent of capital raised from promissory notes and Investment Management Accounts be supplied as venture capital, and revitalizing the dormant IMA scheme. The plan also introduces incentives for overseas expansion, strengthens risk management for derivatives-linked products, and outlines a phased designation process for CFIBEs starting in the third quarter of 2025.
