Regulation to amend Regulation 23-101 respecting Trading Rules
The regulator amends Regulation 23-101 respecting Trading Rules to revise the fee structures for equity securities and exchange-traded funds. The new rules establish a fee of greater than $0.0017 per security for trades priced at $1.00 or more, and greater than $0.0004 per security for trades priced below $1.00. Additionally, Section 6.6.2 of the Regulation is repealed, and these changes come into force on November 2, 2026.

REGULATION TO AMEND REGULATION 23-101 RESPECTING TRADING RULES

(chapter V-1.1, s. 331.1, par. (32) and (34))
- Section 6.6.1 of Regulation 23-101 respecting Trading Rules (chapter V-1.1, r. 6) is
amended by replacing, in paragraph (2), subparagraphs (a) and (b) by the following:
“(a) is greater than $0.0017 per security traded for an equity security, or per unit
traded for an exchange-traded fund, if the execution price of each security or unit traded is
greater than or equal to $1.00, and
“(b) is greater than $0.0004 per security traded for an equity security, or per unit
traded for an exchange-traded fund, if the execution price of each security or unit traded is less
than $1.00.”.
- Section 6.6.2 of the Regulation is repealed.

This Regulation comes into force on 2 November 2026.
