CA 22-5: Standard Information Request (SIR) Process

The Federal Reserve issued this guidance to establish a Standard Information Request process for supervising community banking organizations with assets of $10 billion or less. The directive requires examiners to tailor information requests to avoid redundancy, limit additional requests, and provide adequate response time to improve examination efficiency. By standardizing these communication practices, the Federal Reserve aims to reduce the duration of the planning and scoping phases while minimizing disruption to bank operations.
