Police Investigations
The Supervisor of Banks issued regulations governing the conduct of banking corporation clerks during police investigations or when warrants are issued. Clerks must comply with police requests to withhold information about warrants or investigations from customers, unless the police have seized original documents. If a customer initiates an inquiry, clerks may confirm the existence of an investigation but are prohibited from elaborating on its nature or substance.
