Privacy of Consumer Financial Information—Amendment To Conform Regulations to the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission proposes to amend its regulations to implement the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act’s amendment to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. The rule creates an exception to the annual privacy notice requirement for covered financial entities that do not share nonpublic personal information with certain third parties and have not changed their disclosure policies. The proposal establishes specific conditions for this exception and outlines the timing requirements for resuming annual notices if a covered person no longer qualifies.
