The Reserve Bank of New Zealand, the Financial Markets Authority, and the Department of Internal Affairs jointly supervise compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009. These agencies enforce obligations on reporting entities through risk-based supervision, guidance, and enforcement tools to detect and deter money laundering and terrorism financing. The framework is coordinated by the National Co-ordination Committee and the Sector Supervisors Forum to ensure consistent application of international standards and domestic regulations.
