The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, in consultation with the FDIC and OCC, issued guidance designating 37 Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data fields as critical for validating data accuracy collected since January 1, 2018. These designated fields are utilized by examiners during sampling and verification procedures to ensure the integrity of HMDA Loan Application Register entries against source loan files. For institutions eligible for partial exemptions under the EGRRCPA, the guidance clarifies that only 21 of the 37 key fields remain subject to mandatory collection and reporting requirements.
