The Central Bank of Brazil issued Instruction No. 729 to mandate new layout versions and filling instructions for 31 financial information reporting documents managed by the Department of Financial System Monitoring. This update aligns the alphanumeric format of the National Registry of Legal Entities (CNPJ) numbers with the requirements of Federal Revenue Instruction No. 2,229, effective from the July 2026 data base. The regulation exempts the measure from a regulatory impact analysis as it constitutes a technical update without substantive changes to existing obligations.
