Prohibition on the Use of the SAMA Logo on Financial Institutions' Publications

The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) issued this circular to prohibit all supervised financial institutions—including banks, insurance, financing, credit information, and exchange entities—from using the SAMA logo on their publications or brochures without prior explicit approval. The directive mandates that all branches of these institutions strictly comply with the ban to prevent reputational harm, unauthorized commercial use, or customer misleading. Non-compliant entities will face appropriate regulatory enforcement actions under applicable Saudi systems and regulations.

Dear Sirs, Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you, Subject: Prohibition on the Use of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) Logo on Publications or Brochures of Financial Institutions.

Based on the powers delegated to the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) under its supervisory and regulatory authority derived from relevant systems and regulations, and given the recent observation of certain entities using the Bank's logo on their publications and brochures without prior approval, which may harm the Bank's reputation, be used for commercial purposes, or mislead customers,

Accordingly, the Bank emphasizes to all entities under its supervision and regulation (banks, insurance companies, financing companies, credit information companies, insurance-related freelance profession companies, and exchange companies/institutions) that they must not use the Bank's logo on their publications or brochures except in cases where such use is explicitly permitted. Furthermore, these entities must ensure that all their branches comply with the provisions of this circular. The Bank will also take appropriate measures against any violating entity in accordance with relevant regulations.
