The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision on April 28, 2021, to place into circulation 2021-issued coins of 5, 10, 20, and 50 feninga and 1 convertible mark. The decision mandates that all public and private entities must accept these coins as legal tender at their nominal value for cash transactions throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. The coins retain the basic features and design established by previous decisions, with circulation managed successively by the Central Bank according to inventory and issuance plans.
Based on Article 2, paragraph (3), item h., Article 7, item a), Articles 39 and 45 of the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of BiH", nos. 1/97, 29/02, 13/03, 14/03, 09/05, 76/06 and 32/07), the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 7th meeting held on April 28, 2021, adopts
DECISION on the issuance of convertible mark coins denominations of 5, 10, 20 and 50 feninga and 1 convertible mark
Article 1. (Introductory Provisions) The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina has minted convertible mark coins (hereinafter: KM coins) in denominations of 5, 10, 20 and 50 feninga and 1 convertible mark, issue of 2021.
Article 2. (Basic Features and Design of KM Coins) The KM coins referred to in Article 1 of this Decision have basic features and design in all respects determined by decisions, as follows: Decision on the issuance, basic features and circulation of coins of 10, 20 and 50 feninga ("Official Gazette of BiH", nos. 24/98 and 25/98), Decision on the issuance, basic features and circulation of coins of 1 and 2 convertible marks ("Official Gazette of BiH", no. 20/00), Decision on the issuance, basic features and circulation of coins in denominations of 5 convertible marks and 5 feninga ("Official Gazette of BiH", no. 92/05).
Article 3. (Year of Issue of KM Coins) The KM coins referred to in Article 1 of this Decision were minted with the issue year "2021".
Article 4. (Legal Tender) The KM coins from this Decision, under the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, all public and private institutions and establishments, legal and natural persons are obliged to accept at their nominal value as legal tender, when offered in cash transactions, or in settlement and payment of any obligations towards them, throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Article 5. (Circulation of KM Coins) Upon entry into force of this Decision, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina will, through the Central Office, main units and branches, put the KM coins from this Decision into circulation successively, in accordance with the inventory of KM coin stocks and the plan for issuing KM coins into circulation.
Article 6. (Entry into Force) This Decision shall enter into force on the eighth day from the date of publication in the "Official Gazette of BiH", and shall also be published in the "Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH", "Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska" and "Official Gazette of the Brčko District of BiH".
