Ref #7457744 Supranationals and quasi-sovereign agencies Last updated: 29 March 2018 The Reserve Bank maintains the following list of supranationals and quasi-sovereign agencies on its website for the purposes of:

  1. assisting registered banks in completing the large credit exposures survey
  2. providing the list referred to in the defined terms for “supranational” and “quasi￾sovereign agency” in the disclosure Order in Council1 for New Zealand-incorporated registered banks. A supranational entity is formed by two or more central governments to promote economic development for the member countries. Quasi-sovereign institutions include national or state government-level issuers other than the sovereign national government. The list below, which includes supranational and quasi-sovereign issuers of Kauri bond debt in New Zealand, is not necessarily complete or exhaustive. If you become aware of another issuer that you believe should be on this list for prudential reporting and disclosure purposes, please contact the Reserve Bank Stats Unit, and we will consider whether to update this document. When completing the Large credit exposures templates, in the ‘Industry classification’ column, a bank must classify any supranational or quasi sovereign entity that appears on the following list as ‘Non-residents: Sovereign, supranational & multilateral’.
