Long-Term Debt Requirements for Large Bank Holding Companies, Certain Intermediate Holding Companies of Foreign Banking Organizations, and Large Insured Depository Institutions; Extension of Comment Period

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation have extended the public comment period for their proposed rule requiring certain large financial institutions to maintain minimum long-term debt. The agencies determined that an extension is appropriate to allow interested parties additional time to review the proposal and prepare responses to specific questions posed in the original notice. The deadline for submitting comments on the rulemaking proposal is now January 16, 2024, replacing the original November 30, 2023, deadline.
