Establishment of the Market Operations Department of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka

You are hereby informed that the Market Operations Department (MOD) of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) will be established with effect from 02 April 2025 by amalgamating the Domestic Operations Department (DOD) and the Domestic Foreign Exchange Market Division (DFMD), which is currently operated under the International Operations Department (IOD).

With the establishment of the MOD, all existing Regulations, Circulars and Operating Instructions previously issued by the Director of the DOD, as well as those issued by the Director of the IOD relating to the operations and transactions of the domestic foreign exchange market, shall continue to be in force, unless the context requires otherwise.

The new email addresses of the MOD will be dmod@cbsl.lk (Director of MOD) and mod@cbsl.lk (General email of MOD). The contact numbers for the MOD and email address of the DFMD (dfx@cbsl.lk) under MOD will remain unchanged.
