Commodity Futures Trading Commission Privacy Act Regulations

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission adopted final rules amending its Privacy Act regulations to better conform with the Privacy Act of 1974 and OMB Circular A-108. The rule explicitly identifies and exempts specific systems of records, including enforcement and investigatory files, from provisions regarding individual access and amendment rights to protect investigative integrity and confidential sources. Additionally, the Commission consolidated previously separate exemption regulations into a single section and added new systems such as whistleblower records and NFA applications to the exemption list.
