The Minister for Financial Services, Labour and Trade of the Virgin Islands issued this notice to appoint the effective date for the Anti-Money Laundering (Amendment) Regulations, 2024. The regulations are declared to come into force on October 15, 2024, pursuant to the authority granted under regulation 1(2) of the same instrument. This gazette notice formally establishes the commencement date for the amended anti-money laundering legal framework.

No. 43 of 2024) A NOTICE MADE BY THE MINISTER FOR FINANCIAL SERVICES, LABOUR AND TRADE UNDER REGULATION 1(2) OF THE ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2024 DECLARING THE DATE ON WHICH THE SAID REGULATIONS SHALL COME INTO FORCE [Gazetted 22nd October, 2024] WHEREAS it is provided by regulation 1(2) of the Anti-money Laundering (Amendment) Regulations, 2024 (S.I. No. 43 of 2024) that the said Regulations shall come into force on such date as the Minister may, by Notice published in the Gazette, appoint; NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers vested in me, I hereby appoint the 15th day of October, 2024 to be the date on which the Anti-money Laundering (Amendment) Regulations, 2024 shall come into force.
