Information Circular PF No 5 of 2017: Investments in Steinhoff International Holdings

The South African Financial Services Board issued Information Circular PF No 5 of 2017 to mandate retirement funds to disclose their exact investment exposure to Steinhoff International Holdings and its subsidiaries. Prompted by a recent sharp decline in Steinhoff's share price and a Minister of Finance statement, the regulator requires funds to complete and electronically submit an attached survey document by close of business on 12 December 2017. Funds requiring guidance on the treatment or disclosure of these investments may contact the Deputy Executive Officer for Retirement Funds for further assistance.
