The Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is renaming the Syria-Related Sanctions Regulations to the Promoting Accountability for Assad and Regional Stabilization Sanctions Regulations to implement Executive Orders 14142 and 14312. This final rule updates the regulatory authority citations to include new statutes and executive orders, while modifying program tags used to identify persons on the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List. The amendment also updates Appendix A to provide the text of the amended Executive Order 13894 and establishes the rule as effective on September 25, 2025.
