CMF Proposes Norms on Information Submission for Securities Intermediaries and Product Exchange Brokers

The Chilean Financial Market Commission (CMF) has published two regulatory proposals requiring securities intermediaries and product exchange brokers to submit monthly and daily information regarding their business volume classification and compliance with net worth, guarantees, liquidity, and debt requirements. These submissions are essential for applying proportionality criteria under General Norms N°510, N°528, and N°562, with the business volume classification rules taking effect on September 1, 2026, and the N°562 supervision rules effective from March 1, 2027. The public consultation period for these proposals remains open until June 26, 2026.

CMF Proposes Norms on Information Submission for Securities Intermediaries and Product Exchange Brokers

The regulatory proposals establish the format, frequency, and medium through which entities must submit information for supervisory purposes.

June 1, 2026. - The Financial Market Commission (CMF) has published for consultation the following regulatory file proposals:

  1. Monthly information submission to determine the entity's classification into business volume blocks (1, 2, or 3). This classification serves as the basis for applying proportionality criteria in compliance with General Norms (NCG) No. 510, regarding operational risk management for securities market entities; NCG No. 528, regarding corporate governance and risk management for Securities Intermediaries and Product Exchange Brokers; and NCG No. 562, regarding minimum net worth, guarantees, liquidity, and indebtedness of Securities Intermediaries and Product Exchange Brokers.

  2. Monthly and daily information submission regarding minimum net worth, guarantees, liquidity, and indebtedness. Its objective is to supervise compliance with the provisions established in the aforementioned NCG No. 562.

The regulatory file associated with the business volume blocks will enter into force on September 1, 2026, and the first information submission must be made in October 2026.

On the other hand, it is proposed that the regulatory files for the supervision of NCG No. 562 enter into force on March 1, 2027, with the first information submission due on April 1, 2027. This is in consideration of the time necessary for entities to carry out the corresponding developments.

The public consultation will remain open until June 26, 2026, inclusive. The details of both proposals are available in the "Regulation Under Consultation" section of the institutional website. The CMF also publishes a Regulatory Report presenting the main contents of the proposals.
