FDIC Withdraws Proposed Rules on Brokered Deposits, Corporate Governance, and Bank Control Act

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is withdrawing three Notices of Proposed Rulemaking concerning brokered deposit restrictions, corporate governance standards for institutions with $10 billion or more in assets, and Change in Bank Control Act regulations. The agency determined that the proposals contained overly prescriptive expectations, duplicated regulatory filings with the Federal Reserve, and failed to account for modern deposit arrangements. Consequently, the FDIC will no longer issue final rules under these specific proposals and will initiate any future regulatory actions through new proposed rulemakings.
