Types of Businesses Permitted for Restricted Foreign Exchange Dealers
The Reserve Bank of Fiji issued this Supervision Policy Statement to define the permitted business activities for entities licensed under the Exchange Control Act. The document distinguishes between Foreign Exchange Money Changers, who are restricted to travel-related transactions such as selling currency and issuing bank drafts, and Restricted Foreign Exchange Dealers, who have broader permissions including electronic transfers and merchandise import matching. Both categories must hold a specific license and be registered with the Registrar of Companies and Businesses to operate legally in Fiji.
