The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation proposes to rescind and remove 12 CFR part 390, subpart O, which contains transferred regulations from the Office of Thrift Supervision regarding subordinate organizations of State savings associations. The FDIC determined that these requirements are substantially similar to existing provisions in 12 CFR part 362, subparts C and D, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, allowing for regulatory streamlining without compromising supervisory results. This notice of proposed rulemaking invites public comment on the removal of the duplicative regulations by November 25, 2020.
